6 lakh Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 units sold in India in just 60 days

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has apparently sold over 6 lakh units in India within just 60 days of weekly flash sales in the country. The brand’s global VP Hugo Barra took to Facebook to announce the news, dubbing the achievement the company’s biggest record yet in the nation.

To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 first hit India back in March this year. The handset had garnered over 8.5 lakh registrations for its first flash sale within 5 days. It later sold out in seconds during its maiden vending process. Given this background, it’s no surprise that the phone has supposedly done so well in the subcontinent.

Xiaomi has probably boosted sales numbers for the handset by hosting a number of open sales for it alongside the Mi 5. It’ll hopefully free the smartphone from its current system and put it on a permanent open sale in the future. The device’s success could largely be attributed to its mix of high-end specs at a low cost.
