The Nextbit Robin has officially arrived in India months after the cloud-focused smartphone made its international debut in September last year. The company has chosen to vend the phone exclusively via Flipkart starting from May 30.
Interestingly, the Nextbit Robin has been attached with a Rs 19999 price tag in India, much lower than its $399 (roughly Rs 26886) cost abroad would suggest. It’s a wise move on the brand’s part given its position as a new competitor trying to gain a foothold in the overcrowded Indian mid-range market segment.
The Robin is set apart from its opponents within the sector by virtue of offering a unique solution for consumers trying to deal with not having enough storage space for all their stuff. Its cloud-first approach automatically detects the least utilized apps and shifts them online. Users simply have to tap on a tool’s icon to bring it back to life.
Nextbit is offering 100GB of online cloud storage in that regard, in addition to the phone’s 32GB of in-built space. The brand has also implemented a useful system which backs up data to the cloud via Wi-Fi without any action from the consumer.
