Nextbit Robin cloud-based phone to hit India by April-end

The Nextbit Robin is set to make its way to India by the end of April, although the brand hasn’t announced a specific release date for it yet. The smartphone first hit the US back in September last year.

The main allure of the Nextbit Robin is its cloud-based OS which promises to back up all data and apps online automatically. The software integrates the phone’s 32GB of in-built room with 100GB of cloud storage. The company claims the handset learns as it goes along, meaning it can analyze a user’s least utilized stuff and archive them so they have space.

This could be a boon for people who run out of storage quickly. However, it remains to be seen if the Robin will prove to be a success in India given the phone primarily depends on Wi-Fi to back up data. Internet speeds in the country can often be unreliable and this device’s top draw depends entirely on there being constant online access.

Other highlights of the Robin include its fingerprint scanner, integrated with the smartphone’s power button on the side of the device, and dual front-facing speakers, each with its own amplifier. There’s also a 13MP camera on its rear surface fortified with phase detection autofocus and dual-tone flash.

Here’s a neat summary of the top specs of the Nextbit Robin:
