Micromax launches four smartphones for Rs 6499 and less

The Micromax Bolt S302 and Bolt D303 have surfaced on the company’s site for Rs 3199, while the other two new phones dubbed the Bolt Q331 and Bolt Q338 carry price tags of Rs 4999 and Rs 6499. The devices are the latest entries in the brand’s series of entry-level handsets.

Both the Micromax Bolt Q331 and Bolt S302 will come with free Airtel data packs for use with WhatsApp. The offering seems to be in violation of net neutrality, which states that no favor should be granted to certain services over others. People who buy the handsets are likely to only use the application, giving it an unfair advantage.

The device comes with Android KitKat 4.4.3 and a 1450mAh battery. The latter is rated to deliver 4 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time, according to Micromax.

Micromax has stuffed the smartphone with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM, expandable up to 32GB. A 2MP fixed-focus snapper accompanied by LED flash is present on its back surface, while a 1.3MP one lies on its front. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB 2.0 and A-GPS.
