The Intex Aqua View has been unveiled in India, representing the brand’s first attempt at bringing virtual reality technology to the masses. To that end, the handset is set to be bundled with a free VR headset dubbed the Eyelet VR Cardboard.
The new Eyelet VR Cardboard is compatible with Google Cardboard. It comes across as a basic VR headset which should allow for 360-degree viewing. Notably, the device is compatible with any handset, not just the Intex Aqua View. The phone can be bought in exchange of Rs 8999 and will hit offline stores soon.
Other than its maiden foray into VR, Intex has also tried to distinguish the phone from its entry-level rivals by equipping it with a fingerprint scanner. This pits in competition against opponents like the Coolpad Note 3 Plus. The handset costs the same and offers features like a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, 3000mAh battery, 3GB of RAM, and 13MP camera.
