Coolpad Note 3 Plus with 5.5-inch full HD screen launched at Rs 8999

The Coolpad Note 3 Plus has been launched in India and is set to go on sale exclusively via Amazon on May 13. The handset is an enhanced version of its predecessor and has been attached with the same Rs 8999 price tag the latter was initially unveiled at.

This will probably prove to be a wise move by the manufacturer, as the only significant update the Coolpad Note 3 Plus offers is its 5.5-inch 1080p display, replacing the 720p resolution of the previous model. Most of the other specs appear to be the same between the two.

To recall, the Note 3 was granted a cut in cost just this week. It’s now selling at Rs 8499 via Amazon. It’s clear that the brand chose to reduce its value in anticipation of the new variant. However, a Rs 500 difference may not be enough for sales of the new handset to cannibalize on the older one.

Coolpad is probably looking to cover all its market bases with the new device, having already outed a Lite version of the phone just a few months ago. This variant retails for Rs 6999 and features a downgraded battery, screen and processor.
