Infosys has joined hands with IBM to set up a Bluemix Innovation Lab in order to create and develop cloud-based apps for its international client base. The facility is based in Bengaluru and is designed to quickly deliver application prototypes.
Bluemix was launched in 2014 and is IBM’s cloud platform for businesses. The tech giant’s partnership with Infosys extends to guiding developers to advance their app creation skills, co-creating applications with customers, and making use of the platform’s resources to seek cognitive computing and analytics solutions.
Bluemix provides over 120 tool and software services, combining IBM, third-party and open-source technologies. Srikantan Moorthy, the Head of Application Development and Maintenance at Infosys, says the India-based company will introduce Bluemix-related content right from its on-boarding and training process.
He further stated the brand’s aim is to bring the tool to its consumer’s app ecosystem in the most swift and collaborative way possible. Infosys has staffed the Bluemix Innovation Lab with designers, specialists and technology architects. Steve Robinson, the General Manager for IBM Cloud, believes the platform can be used by developers to accelerate the process of creation of next-generation apps.

The service currently offers a mix of public, private and hybrid clouds. Back in September, IBM collaborated with HCL to launch an incubation center in Noida to formulate Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for industries. The two brands intend to investigate the problems being faced by various industries.
The process will involve developing forward-thinking solutions for the companies such as smart facilities, remote monitoring and intelligent inventory administration. IBM hopes the endeavor will result in a smooth joint operation comprising of devices, connectivity, data and analytics.
