Micromax has begun sale of its Alpha laptop priced reasonably at Rs 26990 in India, through ecommerce vendor Flipkart. The device functions on the fifth generation Intel Core i3 processor with Windows 10 OS. It follows the Micromax Ignite notebook as a budget offering from the Indian company’s stable.
The Micromax Alpha has 6GB RAM paired with the 1.5GHz processor. It has internal memory of 500GB and its 15.6-inch display has a resolution of 1366 x 768p. Above the screen is a webcam of 1MP resolution. The laptop has dual speakers for audio playback.
Standard connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, HDMI and Ethernet LAN. Micromax offers two ports each for USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 on the device. The 4-cell battery in the Alpha claims to deliver about 4.7 hours of usage. The device tips the scales at 2.1kg.
The budget laptop segment in India is currently seeing a boom with multiple brand offerings. RDP recently launched the Thinbook which claims to be the cheapest notebook in India for Rs 9999. The Rs 14499 Lenovo Ideapad 100S is banking the cost as its USP. The Micromax Ignite LPQ61 is available for Rs 18990.
