OnePlus X isn’t going on open sale in India, but OnePlus 2 will

The OnePlus X and OnePlus 2 are bidding goodbye to the much-maligned invite system, the former for 3 days and the latter forever. The brand’s CEO Carl Pei announced the news via its official blog, mentioning that the company would be celebrating its 2nd anniversary on December 17.

The OnePlus 2 will be available without an invite starting from December 5. The brand has been hosting limited period open sales for the handset for a while, the last one taking place on November 25. The OnePlus X seems to be following a similar strategy, and is set to go an open sale from December 5 to 7.

Unfortunately for Indian fans, the OnePlus X will not be free of invites in the country during those dates. A representative of the company told NDTV that the manufacturer was planning to host a separate open sale for the device in the nation, but did not confirm when that would take place.
