Zomato lets users contact customer care from within app

One of India’s most popular restaurant finder apps, Zomato, has introduced a new in-app chat tool to enable customers to interact with customer service executives with ease. It’s been launched in partnership with Konotor, a messaging platform for applications.

Zomato had been testing out the in-app chatting feature through its separate Order app. The company has now pushed it out of the beta stage and made the tool accessible through its main application. It’s only open to people living in India and the UAE for now. Messages can be sent to the brand’s contact center anytime between 9 am and 11 pm.

Possible queries could range from tracking the status of an order or cancelling one. Users can further find out when they’ll be getting a refund and get informed about promos. Tanmay Saksena, the Global Business Head of online ordering at Zomato, said that the company is aiming to simplify the process of placing an order for customers.

India-based Zomato recently rolled out version 9.0 of its iOS app a few days ago. The changes consist of a refreshed Dineline which places images and reviews into separate tabs and a new Account section which contains settings and shortcuts. This page leads to the Leaderboards 2.0 tab with separate rankings for reviews, bloggers and photos.

Zomato has also launched a new Custom Collections tool which allows individuals to design a list of their favorite restaurants and share it with friends. They can also view collections made by the members they follow and save the list for later. Finally, the brand has integrated Apple’s 3D Touch feature to peek and pop images within the application.

You can download the Zomato app via iTunes or the Google Play Store.
