Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro, Galaxy J7 Max unveiled in India

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7 Max have gotten launched in India, arriving in the country as the latest additions to the brand’s popular mid-range series. Both have landed with support for Samsung Pay and a new Social Camera feature.

Starting off with the Galaxy J7 Pro, the handset is very similar to the Galaxy J7 (2017) which got unveiled in Europe last week. The main difference between the two is the former’s 64GB of ROM, much more than the latter’s 16GB.

Diving into its specs, the Galaxy J7 Pro comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP f/1.7 primary camera, a 13MP f/1.9 secondary shooter, Android 7.0 Nougat, a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, 3600mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner. It ships with Samsung Pay, allowing users to replace their physical credit and debit cards with a virtual one on their phone.

The Galaxy J7 Max has been saddled with Samsung Pay Mini since it doesn’t support NFC, limiting owners to UPI and e-wallet transactions like Paytm. The device stands out thanks to a Smart Glow ring placed around the rear snapper. People can color-code different kinds of alerts so that they instantly know what notification has come in without having to look at the display.

Both the Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7 Max have been equipped with a Social Camera tool that pins contacts inside the camera app. Users can click a photo and instantly send it to their friends via WhatsApp or Facebook without having to exit the window. There are also live filters and live stickers to give the likes of Snapchat a run for their money.
