Xiaomi Redmi 1S handset hitting India next week via Flipkart for Rs 5999

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S has just pulled the dirty sort of trick we can all appreciate and has strolled onto Flipkart at Rs 5999, which is Rs 1000 cheaper than the previously announced price. And just as we assumed, the phone is landing in India following the same release pattern as the Mi 3 near Diwali.

Registrations for the Xiaomi Redmi 1S will commence at 6pm today and the smartphone will be made available for purchase at 2pm sharp on September 2. That Rs 1000 difference in cost may just be the undoing of the Asus ZenFone 4 A450CG which shares similar specs and is also up for pre-order through Flipkart.

The upcoming Asus ZenFone will be the Redmi 1S’ newest competitor, while the Moto E is practically old news now considering that it was launched in May. Whichever one of its rivals you compare the Xiaomi phone to, it comes across as more impressive.

The Asus device makes do with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1GB RAM and a dual core chipset. The Motorola handset has 1GB RAM, a dual core SoC, a 4.3-inch qHD screen, a 5MP camera and 32GB microSD card support. So we’re sure you see what we mean now.
