Xiaomi Mi 5 coming out on February 24

After months of speculation, the launch date of the Xiaomi Mi 5 has officially been confirmed as February 24. The date had been previously announced by the brand’s co-founder Liwan Jiang, via his Weibo account and has now been verified by Hugo Barra, the company’s VP, and Manu Jain, its India head, through their social media accounts.

There’s no word yet on when the Xiaomi Mi 5 will arrive on Indian shores. The post on Barra and Jain’s page is nearly identical, with a cryptic tagline stating the phone would be all a person could imagine and more. It also pointed out that the smartphone would be the manufacturer’s first release for the year 2016.

The phone has been the subject of numerous leaks over the past few months. The latest one claims to know the price details of the device.
