It seems the long-rumored Xiaomi 12 Ultra is set to arrive early next month with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip at its heart. According to a new leak, July 5 is the date on which the device could be launched in China, while there might even be a teaser campaign that will start on June 28.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra hasn’t officially been spoken about by the company yet. However, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun recently said that the company is preparing to launch a device with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in July, which is widely believed to be the phone in question.
This leak comes from a Hong Kong-based outfit named Tech Going. The publication claims that it has received the information from a tipster without a good track record, so there are chances that this might not turn out to be true.
That said, past leaks have given us a good idea of what to expect from the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. It could offer a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. And apart from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, its internal specs could include 8GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
As for the camera setup of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, it may ship with a 50MP main camera with OIS support. The ultra-wide shooter is expected to offer a 48MP sensor and the same goes for the telephoto camera, which is said to offer 5x optical zoom. For selfies, it may offer a 20MP front camera. Lastly, it could opt for a 4,800mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
Let us now wait and see whether this alleged launch date of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra turns out to be true.
