Telegram Premium Subscription Arrives With New Perks

Telegram Premium

Telegram, having reached the milestone of 700 million monthly active users, has launched its first-ever paid plan in the form of a Premium subscription. The company insists that this membership will only bring additional benefits to interested parties, with the currently available features staying unaffected.

The creators of the platform have said in the past that they won’t stop doling out new features for non-subscribers. That stands true for now, even as the latest Telegram update has brought with it verified badges in chats and the ability for public groups to enable join requests.

As for Telegram Premium, subscribers will get a 4GB upload size instead of 2GB and will also receive faster download speeds when grabbing new files. And while the current follow limit for channels is 500, it gets raised to 1000 in the Premium membership.

Moreover, subscribers will be able to create up to 20 chat folders of 200 chats each, add a fourth account to any Telegram app, pin 10 chats in the main list, and save up to 10 favorite stickers. Additionally, they can write longer bios and include a link in them.

That’s not all. Unique stickers with full-screen animations, 10 new emoji for reactions, fresh tools to organize your chat list, animated profile pictures, Premium badges, new app icons, and a complete absence of ads are some of the other benefits for paid users of Telegram.

The company said in a blog post, “The contributions of premium subscribers will help improve and expand the app for decades to come, while Telegram will remain free, independent and uphold its users-first values, redefining how a tech company should operate.”

The Telegram Premium tier will be rolled out in a gradual manner in the days to come.
