WhosHere included in top five percent of iPhone Apps

WhosHere iPhone Application Metrics released by Admob reveals that WhosHere is in the top 5 percent of all free apps that run across the Admob network. More than 2,300 free iPhone apps that run on the Admob network were reviewed and it was found that a little over 100 applications have more than 100,000 users a month.

According to the Admob report, “5 percent of applications had more than 100,000 active users in May 2009” WhosHere utilizes Admob in addition to others to provide ads to WhosHere users. In May, a little less than 90 percent of WhosHere users were presented with Admob ads.

Stephen Smith, co-founder and COO mentioned, “It is no surprise to find WhosHere in such elite company. By focusing on the iPhone and its native capabilities, WhosHere creates an extremely compelling user experience in that you can meet and chat with thousands of new people, post pictures, send pictures similar to MMS and have all the text messaging you want. Frankly, it is an experience that cannot be duplicated by SMS or Web-based applications.”

WhosHere has considerably more than 100,000 users every month. This application also features in the top 20 of all Social Networking apps on Apple’s iTunes App Store. Recently, it broke a record when users sent 1.6 million text and image messages in a span of 24 hours. People in over 150 countries use this application.

WhosHere offers an exceptionally simple user interface that allows users to meet friends, potential dates or network. It is basically a social proximity application. It unveils matches that are near users or anywhere in the world. Users simply need to answer a few questions about themselves and who they are interested in meeting. Once users find someone they wish to talk with, WhosHere provides them with the facility to send unlimited, free text and image messages to them.

This application can function on Apple’s iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3G S and iPod Touch. It is available for free on the iTunes App Store.
