America Movil and Nokia to bring mobile email services to Latin America

America Movil Nokia America Movil and Nokia have recently announced that they are going to provide Latin American customers with a top of the line messaging experience for multiple devices. There is a growing need for multimedia options on mobile devices in Latin America. The collaboration between the two companies addresses this problem.

America Movil customers in seven countries will be able to avail the Nokia Messaging solution before the end of the year. No other mobile operator has announced Nokia Messaging offering throughout Latin-America before.

“Messaging is ready for exponential growth in Latin America. As the leading operator in Latin America, we will be leading in this space,” commented Marco Quatorze, Head of Value Added Services, America Movil. “Collaboration with Nokia in the messaging space is one of the strategies we are pursuing to drive this growth.”

Customers using America Movil will be able to amass and manage multiple email accounts even while traveling. All this takes place in a single application, through the use of an intuitive user interface. The Nokia Messaging solution can be set up easily and consumers can access up to 10 personal email accounts. Several consumers desire the flexibility of different accounts for each of their communities.

Nokia Messaging enables people to enjoy the benefits of real time messaging. Nokia messaging allows users to read, send, forward and reply to emails, view subfolders, download and read attachments and also attach files to emails in real time using a Nokia device.

The two companies will initially launch Nokia Messaging in five countries this summer with the Nokia E63, the Nokia E71 Black, the Nokia E72 and the Nokia E75. These devices will arrive with the licensing for Nokia Messaging. Nokia Messaging will be promoted in attractive data plans together with America Movil.
