Giving a chance to let users relive their childhood again is the Warner Bros. Midway Arcade app, which can now be downloaded through the Apple App Store. Compatible with the iPhone, the iPad as well as the iPod touch, this application tags along as many as 10 classic games
The app seems like a great way to walk down memory lane. It features a virtual showroom comprising tickets, arcade games and virtual prizes for players. Besides the already included 10 titles, it gives users an option to make in-app purchases to play additional games. Their achievements and high scores in these titles appear on the online leaderboards.
“The games featured in Midway Arcade helped define the arcade gaming space and the App Store is the perfect platform to deliver these legacy games to the current generation of gamers. Longtime arcade fans can reconnect with their early favorites, and new players can fall in love with these groundbreaking arcade classics,” stated Greg Ballard, Senior Vice President, Digital Games, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
The 10 games included in the software’s showroom include Spy Hunter, Rampage, Joust, Arch Rivals, Root Beer Tapper and Defender in addition to some skill based games such as Roll Ball, Basketball, Air Hockey and Pool. And the two game packs available for in-app purchase are Fantasy game pack and Action game pack. The former consists of Gauntlet I, Gauntlet 2 and Wizard of Wor, whereas APB, NARC and Total Carnage form a part of the latter one.
The Warner Bros. Midway Arcade app is available for $0.99 through iTunes. The Fantasy and Action game packs can be purchased from the app for $0.99, each.
