Carphone Warehouse was previously spotted offering Google’s Android powered Nexus S in the UK. Now Vodafone UK is set to join the show with a recent announcement that it will soon launch a white colored Nexus S apart from the black hued version.
Samsung’s Nexus S runs on the Gingerbread or Android 2.3 OS and includes 16GB iNAND flash memory. The handset sports a 4” contour Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor. It integrates a 5MP AF camera along with a 640 x 480p VGA front facing camera.
The smartphone’s connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11n/b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS and the relatively new NFC technology. It is powered by a 1500mAh Li-ion battery which offers talk time of up to 6.7 hours on 3G networks or around 14 hours on 2G. Users get an approximate standby time of 17 days on 3G networks or 29 days on 2G.
With this upcoming launch, Vodafone will apparently become the first operator to sell the Google Nexus S in the UK. Pricing details regarding the soon to be released phone are yet to be made public.
