The price of the Videocon VT10 has popped up and the company seems to have taken an impressive leap with its first Android-driven tablet. The device runs Jelly Bean and though it’s not the latest version of the OS, the cost should make up for it.
The VT10 is all set give a number of manufacturers a run for their money. Its retail tag should come as a pleasant surprise, considering the country has stood an audience to the release of 7-inch slates that cost more. The gadget measures 257.3mm x 176mm x 10.3mm in dimensions and at the same time, it houses a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display, which spews out images and clips at a resolution 1,280 x 800 pixels. The screen allows wider viewing angles as it comes with IPS technology.
Running at a speed of 1.5GHz is an embedded dual core Qualcomm processor which turns to 1GB of RAM for assistance. Apart from packing an inbuilt storage capacity of 8GB, the device allows users to expand the memory up to 32GB through a microSD card.
The slate will spring out of the box fitted with dual cameras. A 2MP snapper has been fixed on to the rear surface, while a sensor of the same quality is plunked on the front panel. Latching onto wireless networks becomes possible with the help of the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity. The tablet jumps out of the box fitted with a 6,800mAh battery and preloaded with apps such as Nexgtv, Saavn, Facebook and Nimbuzz.
The Videocon VT10 has struck various retail stores and online shopping portals. Its price has been labeled at Rs. 11,200 in India, which converts into approximately 204 USD or 155 Euros, as per today’s exchange rate. The OEM hasn’t given any option with respect to color and has made the tablet available only in white. Those interested can also take it home through online vendors such as Snapdeal and Homeshop18.
