Verizon Wireless Launches XV6800 Smartphone

Verizon Wireless has started offering the XV6800 smartphone in the US. This smartphone is targeted at business professionals requiring high-speed data, e-mail, Internet, and Microsoft Office access while traveling.

The XV6800 runs on the Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system and offers the ability to create, view, and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents. Moreover, users can download data on their phone at the speed of up to 2.4 Mbps.

The handset also works as a modem if connected to a laptop through BroadbandAccess Connect. In addition, the Web can be accessed via the smartphone’s built-in Wi-Fi technology.

Some of the other features of the XV6800 smartphone are:

  • QWERTY keyboard
  • A touch-sensitive LCD screen enabling both portrait as well as landscape view
  • microSD memory card slot supporting up to 8 GB
  • 2.0-megapixel camera with flash and video capture
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • Video messaging
  • Windows Media Player 10
  • The XV6800 will be available with Verizon Wireless from December 5 onwards. However, interested buyers can also purchase the phone online at the price of $450 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year subscription to Verizon Wireless.
