The LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 price and release date details have been announced by Verizon and the tablet has been made available for pre-order through the carrier. It was launched earlier this month by other network providers such as AT&T and Sprint as well.
For those in search of devices with a high definition display, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich slate offers a 10.1-inch WXGA PLS TFT screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. A 1GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor joins hands with 1GB of RAM to deliver speed for tasks like browsing and downloading content from the web.
Besides the system memory, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 also provides internal memory storage of up to 8GB, that can be further expanded up to 64GB through the use of a microSD card. The innumerable apps and widgets through the Google Play store should be able to keep users entertained.
To enable capturing of images when desired, a 3.2MP shutter is positioned on the rear side. If the pictures fail to pan out as expected, they can be edited via downloadable apps like Adobe Photoshop Express and Picasa. Moreover, a user-facing VGA webcam may prove to be useful for video conferencing.
Furthermore, connectivity features like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi facilitate wireless data sharing whilst the mobile hotspot capability, when clubbed with the carrier’s 4G LTE network, allows up to 10 devices to be connected. A 7000mAh battery which, as per the company claims, gives up to 12 hours of usage time or up to 624 hours of standby assists in carrying out all of the above functions.
The LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has been made available for pre-order through Verizon at a price of $499.99 including a month to month service that can range from $30 to $60 for 4GB or 10GB, respectively. The carrier says it will begin shipping the tablets in two days time, by November 26.
