Verizon Pantech Perception speculated to strike the US in Q1 of 2013

Rumor has it that a certain Pantech Perception is on its way to the US and apparently, it will be out through carrier Verizon Wireless. Very little is known of this mysterious device as of now and there is no confirmed word from the company or the network provider regarding its existence.

The Perception will supposedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with a clock speed of up to 1.5GHz. No information concerning its screen size has been disclosed, but if we were to consider the buzz in town, the display promises to spurt out pictures and videos at a resolution of 720 x 1196 pixels.

The specifications as well as a leaked picture (posted above) have been spilled out by the guys at Unwired View and they believe that the smartphone should be claimed by the carrier sometime during the first quarter of this year. The OS, system memory, battery capacity, storage space and other such technical components are still unclear at present.

If there is even a slight chance the device does exist, it will be the second mid-range smartphone in the Pantech series this year which will be heading towards the US. We say this because the Korean company recently rolled out its first 720p handset through AT&T just a few days earlier.

Dubbed the Discover, the phone (picture posted below) shows off a 4.8-inch TFT touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. It packs the Android 4.0 OS and gains steam from a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Users will find the 12.6MP camera fixed on its rear featuring 4x digital zoom as well as onboard storage capacity of 16GB.

Coming back to the Pantech Perception release window, it cannot be ascertained for now. However, considering that its pictures have been leaked and certain specifications are out, the finger points towards an imminent arrival. Except for the tidbit that it might hit stores in the Q1 of 2013, there are no other availability details in terms of price or rate plans.

In the meantime, resident enthusiasts in the US can also take a look at other handsets by the company:

– 4G LTE Star Q
– Slider phone Marauder
– 4.3-inch Flex
