Twitter for Mac updated after two years, flaunts support for Retina display

Twitter has Mac owners dumbfounded as it rolls out an update optimized for this device almost two years after it pushed forth the previous upgrade. It just seems that along with tablets and smartphones reigning over major portion of users’ lives, they have also begun diverting companies’ attention away from laptops.

Owing to this update, the software has evolved enough to read v2.2, although it brings only a handful of changes this time. To start with, it will now support Retina display, meshing comparatively well with Apple’s high resolution notebooks.

As for the layout, all the icons such as home, discover, search and others have been crammed one below the other on a bar located to the left of the utility’s homepage. Seeing the picture of the service’s most recent UI (attached below), we wouldn’t blame people if they take a while before spotting the Tweet icon.

If it still isn’t clear where this button is located, it is the almost-camouflaged option on the bottom left of the page. But on the brighter side, the bumped up software now sanctions posting pictures to pic.twitter.com. Moreover, the company’s official blog speaks of certain alterations made to icons.

English has naturally been supported by the app since forever. But this time, people can expect to utilize the service in additional languages like Dutch, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean and 7 more languages. Together with tagging along these new introductions, the utility puts forth options to create keyboard shortcuts as well as a choice to manage more accounts than one.

The updated edition of Twitter for Mac has crossed the threshold of Apple’s App Store and has been made available at absolutely no charge. It can however be employed only by those using laptops running OS X 10.6 or higher.The makers don’t wish to stop right after this upgrade, seeing as they have vouched to announce many more improvements shortly.
