Twitter beta testing program for Android bug hunters kicks off

Taking inspiration from Facebook and Snapchat, Twitter has laid foundation to its beta testing program on Android using the Google Play store as a platform. Signing up for this will grant access to the app’s unreleased builds and in the process, replace the original icon. So it is best that ardent Twitter buffs keep away, considering that this edition may not run all the attributes as efficiently.

Naturally, not all the features found in the beta release will not make it to the final version and keep an eye out for certain dangerous instabilities as well. Notifications for new updates will be rolled out to all those who volunteer for this program. Considering the number of upgrades that Twitter has been pushing forth for Android users, it’s okay to say that testers will have a lot on their plates.

Last we saw the microblogging domain in action was when its update concentrated on providing a better layout for conversations this week itself, accumulating all the responses received on a tweet right under it. Alongside, it also brought in the report abuse option for Android users, which it had introduced for iOS-dedicated app a long time back.

Coming back to the topic at hand, those interested in getting on with some pre-release action on the Twitter app for Android can visit the Google Group, said a post on Android Police. Following a signup process, it won’t be too difficult to miss the large blue ‘Become A Testor’ icon residing on the page. All that is needed after this is downloading the app from Google Play.
