The Micromax Canvas Fun A74 is here and it looks like just another result of the company’s fetish to craft inexpensive smartphone’s with not many surprises. Why else would it introduce the handset in less than a week of unveiling the Fun A76 with more or less the same offerings? Despite ranking second in India and having the Doodle 2 as well as the Canvas 4 under a wing, Micromax has no intentions to take a back seat.
Moving on, the Micromax Canvas Fun A74 has emerged with a 4.5-inch capacitive touch display which isn’t all that smaller than the 5-inch A76. It treats users to a generous chunk of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and whether it’s destined for an update, remains to be anyone’s guess. Together with a 5MP camera featuring an LED flash and fixed focus, the phone comes with a VGA webcam for video conferencing.
System memory of 512MB backs a dual core processor which sprints at a clock speed of up to 1.3GHz. The fact that the smartphone’s memory of 4GB (which already isn’t much) goes on to set aside merely 1.25GB for users’ storage desires, could be a disadvantage. But the expansion slot boasting of compatibility with a microSD card of up to 32GB ought to help in this situation.
While the Canvas Fun A74 has already been adorned with the ‘In Stock’ status at Snapdeal, Saholic and Infibeam wherein its retailing at a price of Rs 7,749, it has yet to strike Flipkart.
