TrueHDR 1.0.1 now hits Apple App Store

TrueHDR 1.0.1 iPhone App High dynamic range (HDR) images can now be captured right from the iPhone by means of an innovative app christened TrueHDR 1.0.1. The Pictional LLC app combines two photos clicked with different exposures and presents a higher dynamic range than a single photo.

TrueHDR enables users to capture two photos on an iPhone 3GS by means of an in-app autofocus camera. Users just need to tap on a bright area to adjust exposure for the first image and then tap on a dark area to fine-tune exposure for the next image.

The app employs sophisticated computational techniques to automatically align, merge, and optimize the resulting image for display. Further, users can also select a pair of saved images captured by the iPhone 3GS or another camera with variable exposure settings, and merge them into one HDR image.

The results screen allows users to directly compose and send emails with the resultant photos. Users can pinch, zoom and pan in portrait or landscape orientations to explore the resulting HDR photo.

TrueHDR 1.0.1 is now available for download at the Apple App Store for $1.99. Pictional LLC envisages increasing the output resolution for future releases.
