Recently released for the iPhone, the Travelzoo app provides subscribers interesting entertainment, travel and local deals while on the go. The app has been developed by an internet media company of the same name and divides into five parts on the home screen.
The Travel Deals section displays numerous air, hotel, cruise and vacation deals put up by Travelzoo deal experts each week. Users are also enabled to view pictures and link directly to those companies offering the deal. The Local Deals Near Me feature works in sync with users’ GPS system to highlight deals in their vicinity. It determines users’ location and filters the deals according to area.

For example, a Travelzoo subscriber currently on vacation in Las Vegas can book a luxury four-course dinner for two at Society Cafe at Encore Las Vegas for $99, and then head out to see ‘Viva ELVIS’ by Cirque du Soleil, at half the regular price. With the new iPhone app, our relationship with our subscribers enters into a new dimension. Travelzoo is not only the brand that gets you there. We’re also the brand that helps you find high-quality deals once you get there.”
The Top 20 section offers users a list of the best twenty deals out of the hundreds out there. The experts of the company research and analyze the deals and come up with this list. The Deals in other cities feature which as the name suggests aids users in finding unique offers in other cities. It’s suitable for those planning a vacation or who travel frequently. The company apparently publishes Local Deals in more than 75 markets globally.
Users can access three applications through the Inspire Me section. First is the Photo Mosaic enabling users to choose a deal on the basis of a picture. Next comes the Deal Roller which allows users to scroll through bigger pictures and view the vacation destinations on offer. Lastly Deals on a Map displays pins on a map and clicking the pins, highlight the deals.
The Travelzoo app for iPhone is currently functional in the U.S. and scheduled to be launched in eight other countries soon. It can be downloaded from the App Store for free.
