Holiday shoppers can now expand their gift list to accommodate the Toshiba Thrive 7-inch tablet that has already started retailing. Powered by the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, this device comes incorporated with five customizable homescreens.
Engadget reports that this new slate operates on a 1GHz dual core processor and features Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core mobile processor. It is embedded with a 7-inch 1280 x 800p high-resolution widescreen display possessing an aspect ratio of 16:10 and integrated with the Toshiba Adaptive Display technology as well as the Toshiba Resolution+ Video Enhancement technology.
The Thrive comes equipped with 1GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It even boasts of a 5MP rear facing camera with auto-focus, digital zoom and LED flash, allowing users to capture videos in 720p. Potential owners can also video chat with loved ones through the integrated 2MP front facing HD snapper and microphone.
The tablet comes pre-installed with the vast suite of Google applications including Google Music, Android Music Player, Google Movie Maker, Android Browser, Android Market, Gmail, Google eBooks, Google Maps, Google Maps Street View, Google Maps Navigation and Google Places. Moreover, Latitude, Search, Calendar/Calendar Sync, Contacts/Contact Sync, Voice Search, Talk and YouTube can easily be accessed from the homescreen.
The Toshiba Thrive 7-inch tablet comes in two capacities of 16GB and 32GB that are priced at $379.99 and $429.99, respectively. It is now available at authorized retail stores across the U.S and is accompanied by a one year standard limited warranty.
