Toshiba TG01 receives motion sensor

Toshiba TG01 Phone The accelerometer of the Toshiba TG01 has recently been enhanced by Japanese-based Usuda Research Institute and Systems Corp. According to MobileCrunch, the Usuda Research Institute has developed an accessory for the TG01, which brings Wii Motion Plus-like technology to the device that allows motion-based navigation.

The Institute has managed to build a super-sensitive motion controller. The module used in this accessory is a MEMS motion sensor along with the company’s proprietary software technology. This MEMS sensor measures acceleration as well as angular velocity.

The TG01 allows input via MicroUSB port. Therefore, third party hardware expansions are possible through this feature. Additionally, the 1GHz Snapdragon processor provides added space for expandability.

This feature can be used to view images clicked by TG01’s camera and can also be controlled by its touchscreen.

Hopefully, this exciting new innovation will be made official soon after a few much needed improvements in its appearance.
