Recently the HTC Click – an entry-level Android phone was spotted. This handset is said to offer a cheaper alternative to other Android handsets from HTC. It will offer competition to others in the low-end smartphone category such as the Touch Viva which is powered by Windows Mobile.
This phone does not sport a keyboard or the trackball feature which was a characteristic of HTC Android phones. Instead of the trackball, it now possesses a directional pad.
According to Phandroid, the pictures of the HTC Click were unveiled by a Vietnamese forum. The same forum is now saying that the phone is apparently going to cost somewhere between 5 to 6 million dong which amounts to $280 to $336, unlocked. If the phone is truly going to be available at this minimal price, it is sure to be free on contract.
Official confirmation from HTC is awaited. There is no release date given for the phone.
