Sygic navigation application now compatible with Nokia Maemo handsets

Sygic App Screenshot Last month the Sygic mobile navigation application was launched for the Windows Mobile 6.5 driven handsets and now the app offers navigation solutions to Nokia Maemo mobile phones.

The turn-by-turn voice guided navigation software powered by Sygic Mobile Maps is capable of transforming mobile phones into full-featured navigation devices. The list of the compatible platforms for the navigation application now includes Nokia Maemo 5 OS devices.

“We are happy to announce the compatibility of Sygic Mobile Maps with Nokia’s new Maemo 5 OS. Currently we are in the phase of quality assurance performing final tests. We are working hard to launch it for sales by the end of 2009, but we won’t hesitate to make this sooner anytime when ready,” quoted Anna Hurbanic, Sygic’s PR Manager.

The GPS software is offered in more than 20 languages, such as Chinese, Arabic, Farsi, Malay, Greece, Russian and nearly all European languages. Apart from the latest Nokia Maemo platform, the app offers support for iPhone, Symbian, Android and Windows Mobile, including Windows Mobile 6.5. Regional apps currently available on other platforms are still in works for Nokia Maemo handsets.

The application is scheduled for sale from Sygic web site e-shop by the end of this year.
