The Swipe MTV Slash has been launched by the companies which had previously revealed the Volt handset and its successor. While both the earlier offerings by Swipe and MTV had been smartphones peddling a 6-inch screen, the manufacturer and the music television network have forayed into the tablet segment this time. However, they have chosen to still call the 7-inch device a ‘Fablet.’
The Swipe MTV Slash shows off many mundane specifications. But what should set it apart from other low-budget slates according to brand ambassador, Nikhil Chinapa, are the music channel-dedicated apps it puts forth – MTV India, Funny and Hottie – to spell them out.
The first app serves as a medium to all the shows, blogs, web programs and more, from the channel. Then comes Funny with which users can view amusing pictures and memes on the web and also LOL, share as well as like them. Finally, Spiltsvilla fans can view uncensored footage from all the five seasons, using Hottie.
Available through the official website, the Slash handset can also be spotted on online stores like Infibeam and Snapdeal, smeared with a price of Rs 9,490. Flipkart too is on the list of outlets planning to sell the tablet, but it holds no stock as of now.
