Sony will introduce Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual on Oct 21

Word is that the Sony Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual will be unveiled in India on October 21 since the company has begun sending out press invites for an unveiling event which is set to take place in New Delhi on the aforesaid date. The flagship handsets were first announced at IFA last month, along with the Xperia Z5 Compact.

The manufacturer hasn’t mentioned which devices will be launched at the occasion. Both the Sony Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual have been listed on the brand’s official India site though, which makes their unveiling more likely. The former retails for GBP 599 (approx Rs 60600) in the UK, while the latter is priced at GBP 699 (roughly Rs 69500).

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Dual

The company is touting the Xperia Z5 Premium Dual as the first phone in the world to flaunt a 4K resolution display. In exact terms, it sports a 5.5-inch IPS Triluminos 3840 x 2160p screen with a pixel density of 801ppi. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processer coupled with an Adreno 430 GPU.

The 4G-ready Sony device is backed by a 3430mAh battery, which is supposed to last for two days and has been equipped with Quick Charge 2.0 technology. It has a 23MP rear camera with a 1/2.3 Exmor RS sensor, SteadyShot, LED flash and hybrid autofocus. A 5MP front-facing wide-angle lens is also on board. It contains 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM, expandable till 200GB.

The Xperia Z5 Premium’s power button is located on the side of the phone and features an integrated fingerprint scanner. It comes with IP65 and IP68 certification, which means it’s waterproof and dust-tight. Moving on to the Xperia Z5 Dual, the smartphone has a similar set of specs. The main differences lies in its 5.2-inch 1080p display and 2900mAh battery.
