Sony has put up the Xperia Tablet Z for pre-order in the UK and it carries a price that starts at £399. This sum is for the 16GB Wi-Fi variant and is inclusive of all taxes.
The tablet was announced way back in January and has since been available in Japan and the US. The company can just hope that the slate doesn’t suffer a similar fate like its smartphone counterpart, which has been dying on its users soon after reaching their hands. The manufacturer has concentrated on elements that make the device resistant to water and dust. Adding another layer of protection to it, the display has been constructed from tempered glass which has further been coated with an anti-shatter film.
Coming to the technical specifications, the device runs on the Jelly Bean OS. As for the processor, a 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm CPU is incorporated into the tablet. The 6000mAh battery provides users with around 110 hours of music listening time or up to 890 hours of standby. An 8.1MP Exmor R camera has been embedded onto the rear and it comes with features like sweep panorama, face as well as smile detection and touch focus. The touchscreen covers 10.1 inches of the front panel which also makes space for a 2.2MP secondary lens.
