Evernote for Android update comes with improved camera features

The Evernote for Android update has been issued and the version 5.0 will bring with it numerous enhancements. The upgrade will now come with support for Smart Notebook by Moleskin which will work in collaboration with the new Page Camera feature.

The app enables capturing of several pictures through Multi-Shot and then it allows users to put them all in one note. They will also have the option of deleting photos that didn’t come quite come out as expected, before hitting save. Page Camera is the latest element to be added to the snapper’s features. When this is utilized, images of documents and papers can be saved onto the application.

The mode finds edges, removes shadows and perks up the contrast to store an appropriate copy. Multi-hued Smart Stickers hidden in the book’s back pocket empowers users with the ability to assign a tag to a note. The official blog states that this was introduced first only to Mac users and is now available for the first time, brought over for mobiles. As for those privileged few who have paid for the Premium service, searches will now result in the popping up of matched documents created in MS Office, iWork and Open Office. An added advantage is the inclusion of advanced PDF Search.

The upgraded Evernote app can be downloaded from the Play store for devices running Android versions 1.6 or higher. The optional Smart Notebook can be bought in small and large sizes for $24.95 and $29.95, respectively. Buying the book will grant users 3 months of free subscription to the Premium service offered by the company.
