Sony teases Honami yet again, indicates water-resistant qualities

The second Sony Honami teaser is here, kind of making the company the mayor of ‘hinting at the obvious’ town. While the manufacturer seems in no hurry to disclose the smartphone in all its glory, it has now slipped out an image with water bouncing off the handset’s screen. Yes Sony, we didn’t see that coming at all.

And if the picture isn’t clear enough to indicate that the Sony Honami will be a water-resistant phone, it has also been accompanied by an ‘About to make a splash’ comment. But it still remains to be seen whether the device will only survive a dip in the water for a few minutes like the Xperia Z or function completely when submerged similar to the Xperia ZR.

It’s not that we haven’t done this before, but let’s just jog our memory and run through the handset’s purported specifications yet again. The 5-inch phone is expected to carry a Triluminos touch display on the front surface, while its back will welcome a 20MP camera. Existence of an inbuilt 2.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset is quite likely and anything under 2GB of RAM will be questionable.

We hope the company has a teaser of the Honami set for each day until September 4 is finally here. The news has once again been spotted amidst the stream of tweets on the company’s official Twitter page.
