SkyDrive For Android

The SkyDrive for Android app has hit Google Play allowing users to backup and share content like images, videos and much more straight from their devices. The company has already rolled out the application for various popular platforms like Windows Phone and iOS.

SkyDrive for Android is said to work best with devices that run on the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. However, users will also be able to install it on their Gingerbread-powered handsets too. The company has maintained the same design seen in the previous versions for this particular roll out. And as always, the application not only provide access to documents, images and other such content saved on it, but also enables users to view the files shared by family and friends.

“Today we’re excited to announce that the app is now available for download. We want to ensure that you’re able to have your files accessible across the various devices you use—so it’s important that we continue to extend the SkyDrive experience to the devices you use every day. This new app for Android is similar to our mobile apps for Windows Phone and iOS and is a key part of making sure your SkyDrive files are accessible and shareable from all your devices,” commented Mike Torres, group program manager, SkyDrive Apps.

To save on time, users can select multiple images and videos at once and upload them to the service. Files can be shared by sending a link via email or from other applications. It maintains a history of the previously accessed documents to avoid the need of scrolling through content repeatedly. Apart from allowing users to view data from other Android apps, this tool provides a platform to manage stuff easily and without much effort.

The SkyDrive for Android app can be picked up via handsets with certified access to the Play store.
