Newest Simmtronics XPad breaks in with Freedom tablet

The Simmtronics XPad Freedom is the latest tablet from the company after the unimaginatively named Xpad Mini was announced in India back in August. It’s yet to get an official product page, but Flipkart is hosting it anyway.

Now Simmtronics is not one of those homegrown brands whose products make a hard-hitting impression. But the price tags usually show them in favorable light most of the time. We don’t know about the XPad Freedom though.

Front Angle Only

The tablet costs Rs 13,999, which is higher than the price points we’re used to seeing on devices from this company. The XPad X1010 is pegged lower than Rs 9,000 and the XPad Mini can be grabbed for less than Rs 10,000.

The newest Simmtronics slate has two SIM slots and also enables 3G calling apart from allowing Wi-Fi connectivity. It sports an 8-inch form factor and works on Jelly Bean. It’s driven by a quad core processor clocked at 1GHz and supported by 1GB of RAM.

XPad Freedom key specs:

– 7.8” 1024 x 768p capacitive touchscreen
– Android 4.2.2 OS
– 1.2GHz quad core processor
– 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, 32GB expandability
– 5MP rear camera and 2MP webcam
– Dual SIM and voice calling
– 5000mAh Li-ion battery
– Up to 5 hours web browsing time

There’s no word on when the tablet will be launched in India. But it is reported to be coming soon. We’ll keep you updated with the details as soon as they’re out.
