Simmtronics Xpad entry-level and mid-range smartphones to hit India soon

Simmtronics has entered the mobile phone market of India with a bang and has announced a set of handsets under the Xpad Fundroid and Amazoid series. Another lineup called Smartdroid is also on the cards. Price and availability details of the smartphones have been kept under wraps, but if we were to go by the specifications, they seem like entry-level gadgets which ought to be cheap.

The company is very keen to reveal that it has been certified by Ericsson which gives the former a license to launch its gadgets absolutely anywhere in the world. And these could include 2G, 3G as well as 4G devices. Its Fundroid series currently has 4 gadgets, Q1, Q2, Q4 and Q5.

Simmtronics Smartphones

The aforementioned lineup is mainly for entry-level phones based on Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich platforms and offer multi-touch real estate of 3.5 or 4 inches. They acquire steam from a 1GHz processor and not more than 512MB of RAM. Each of them also has dual SIM card slots.

Up next is the Amazoid M1 which falls in the mid-range category with its slightly advanced specifications. First and foremost, it flaunts a 4.7-inch touchscreen which gets its intuitive interface from the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 OS. You can even expect better cameras from the phone. An 8MP one graces the rear panel and a 2MP lens ensure video conferencing. This handset also features a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 512MB of RAM and an 1800mAh battery.

Prices of the Simmtronics Xpad Fundroid and Amazoid series have not been mentioned. They will be available through retail stores and shopping portals soon.
