Vodafone Music service launched, allows audio and video streaming

According to Vodafone, it is the first telecom company to have introduced a music streaming service in India with which, it seeks to enhance the mobile internet experience in the nation. And while most of the similar services are limited to smartphones, the carrier has ensured that nobody feels left out and has taken feature phones under its wing too. It has been developed by Hungama Digital Media Entertainment.

This is not only a comprehensive music streaming service, but also a downloading service that lets you save music on your phone. Vodafone has launched it for its 155 million customers across the nation and makes it available through WAP on all compatible gadgets. Those who have an Android smartphone can download the dedicated application through the Google Play store. The network provider says that the apps for other operating systems will be released very soon.

You can download content via any WAP browser or through the Vodafone Music application. An advanced search option helps you look for tracks that you like and would want to listen to. And what’s more, the service claims to be loaded with a lot of user-friendly features. You get the option of creating playlists of favorite numbers and add widgets.

It allows users to manage their accounts however they want. Moreover, there will be an advanced version of the service that will bring functions like cloud synchronization, radio, predictive search and the option to share your playlist amongst a number of other things.

Vodafone Music lets you stream tracks and videos for no content charges. For downloading songs, you can opt for Pay Go and Pay Go Value plans which cost Rs 3 for a song and Rs 10 for 5 songs, respectively. Also, there are packs for Rs 5/day, Rs 29/week and Rs 99/month.
