SoundLogic and MTV make a splash with FashionTronix speakers and headphones

Somehow, the SoundLogic and MTV partnership over the colorful new FashionTronix headphones and speakers makes perfect sense. Barring musicians, who else would you rope in for support if you were an audio gear manufacturer offering products that need to be a little different in order to stand out from the crowd? Having the backing of a music channel like MTV is clearly a win-win situation for both.

So here you have the FashionTronix SoundBox and Twister speakers. And then the Boom, Wave and Studs headphones. While the first is an over-the-ear headset, the last two are in-ear ones. Each of the products sport the MTV logo and are splashed out in some really youthful, funky colors. Not the kind you could gift to your mum or dad for Christmas, that’s for sure.

Starting with the in-ear headsets, both share the same specifications of 20hz to 20khz frequency, 9mm drivers, 32w impedance and an in-built mic. Each trails along a 1.2m flat cable and flaunts a 3.5mm connector on one end. The Studs go right into the ear canal and arrive in red, black and purple color choices. The Wave sits just inside the ears. It comes in black/green, yellow/orange and blue/white combinations.

The rather striking pair of Boom headphones can be picked up in white/red, black/red and purple/black blends. One of the only things that changes on its features sheet as compared to the Wave and Studs are its drivers – they’re 40mm. The Twister is a splashproof speaker coated in red, black or blue. You can hook it up to an iPhone, iPad, iPod and or any other compatible gadget over Bluetooth 3.0, meaning no wires needed.

The device has a wireless range of up to 30 feet and can deliver roughly 3 hours of audio between charges. The rectangular Soundbox is available in blue or black. It can play nice with any willing partner over Bluetooth 2.1 and will also allow you to set it up using wires. There’s an integrated microphone and the rechargeable battery hidden under the hood renders up to 4 hours of music playback.

The FashionTronix Soundbox and Twister are priced at Rs 3,999 and Rs 2,999, respectively. The Boom, Studs and Wave can be grabbed for Rs 1,499, Rs 899 and Rs 1,099, in that order. Croma will be selling these SoundLogic devices.
