Samsung Transform Ultra coming through Boost Mobile on October 7

Samsung has launched the Transform Ultra smartphone to be made available via Boost Mobile from October 7. Earlier both companies coming together led to Galaxy Prevail becoming the best-selling no-contract smartphone in Samsung’s history, according to the company. Apparently, they plan to continue down the same road with Ultra.

An upgraded version of Samsung Transform, Ultra maintains the Slide-Out QWERTY keypad and also comes pre-installed with a 2GB microSD card expandable up to 32GB. Its front panel is fit-in with a touchscreen and a VGA camera while its rear side has a 3MP one. It incorporates other basic specs like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and speakerphone with voice-activated dialing. This Android 2.3 powered handset with 1GHz processor offers easy access to Android market and other Google services.

“If you have been sitting on the sidelines considering no-contract plans or Android smartphones, it’s time to upgrade with the latest Samsung Android devices paired with the award-winning Boost Mobile plans and customer experience,” comments Andre Smith, vice president-Boost Mobile. “The Transform Ultra device includes the innovative Mobile ID platform, allowing customers to get a running start in exploring Android applications and widgets based on their personal interest.”

The Transform Ultra handset comes pre-loaded with Mobile ID. This is a service from Boost that will allow users to install and download ‘ID packs.’ These packs will include easily accessible widgets, ringtones, applications and wallpapers designed keeping user’s interests (sports, entertainment, fitness and music) in mind.

Music lovers can bask in the MTV Music pack offering widgets, content and music apps that will allow them to stream, download and search music of their choice. Other ID packs that are loadable on the mobile phone include E!, Entertainment, Professional, Socially Connected, Lo2Yo Latino, Lo2Yo Mujer and Lo2Yo Futbol.

Samsung Transform Ultra will be available from October 7 at a price of $229.99 (excluding taxes). It will be purchasable at Boost Mobile’s exclusive retail stores, select independent wireless dealer locations across the country and at boostmobile.com with free shipping.
