Samsung Omnia W launched, on its way to Italy

Samsung Omnia WThe Samsung Omnia W announced yesterday, is a Windows Phone 7.5 phone (Mango) that is all ready to set sail to Europe. With looks borrowed from its predecessor the Omnia 7, this one happens to be lighter and thinner in comparison.

The Omnia W is fitted with a 5MP camera on the rear side, to capture and view moments on its 3.7 inch Super AMOLED display. Its 1.4GHz processor coupled with Mango interface has applications laid out in mosaic ‘live tiles’ to respond to a single touch. Plus, the handset’s 14.4Mbps HSPA connectivity allows speedy browsing with Internet Explorer 9 and Bing. Add to that, Microsoft Zune powered Picture Music and Video Hub along with a Game Hub providing the latest gaming experience, enabling users to chat with friends when engaged in a game.

The Samsung Omnia W delivers on every count,” states JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications business.

This Windows phone comes with built-in Windows Live, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for those social butterflies who constantly love to stay in touch with their family and friends. As for the business folks, it includes Windows Live Sky Drive that allows 25GB of free storage with easy access to documents and media files. The Microsoft Office and One Note platform, form sharing voice memos, images and texts, are also integrated for corporate work. As for play, the Windows Phone Marketplace has over 30,000 apps to choose from and enhance the smartphone experience.

The Samsung Omnia W will be commercially available starting in Italy from October-end, and gradually rolled out to include other parts of Europe, CIS, Latin America, Africa, South East and South West Asia.
