Samsung Omnia smartphone series enhanced

Samsung Omnia Smartphones Basking in the glory of the Samsung Omnia I (I900), the handset manufacturer is now planning to unveil an innovative series of Omnia smartphones powered with a host of multimedia and other features.

The Omnia Series will comprise of the OmniaPRO B7610, the OmniaPRO B7320, the OmniaPRO B7330, and the OmniaLITE (B7300). The range also includes the Omnia II (I8000) with updated Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System. These smartphones are expected to hit the stores by the end of this year, each carrying a different strategic plan to make an impact on the diverse customer segment.

“The Omnia Series is one of Samsung’s most important lineups yet and definitively shows our leadership in the smartphones marketplace. Samsung’s smartphone strategy is to provide both powerful multimedia features, with brighter and faster AMOLED displays, and offer efficiency and convenience at work supported by an advanced open operating system,” remarked JK Shin, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications Division.

The OmniaPRO B7610 features a 3.5” AMOLED display and QWERTY keyboard. The OmniaPRO B7320 and OmniaPRO B7330, seem to be business oriented and come equipped with a QWERTY keyboard and email/wireless internet functionalities. The B7330 is loaded with HSDPA 7.2 Mps, HSUPA 2.0 Mps and Windows Mobile 6.5, facilitating effortless emailing and wireless internet usage.

Samsung would be launching all the handsets belonging to the Omnia series which were driven by Windows Mobile 6.1 previously with Windows Mobile 6.5, except the Omnia II, OmniaPRO B7610, and OmniaPRO B7320 which will be updated. The Omnia II boasts of a 3.7-inch AMOLED display with crystal-clear WVGA resolution. It incorporates TouchWiz 2.0 UI, 3D effects as well as Advanced R Touch (Resistive Touch) facilitating easier browsing and navigating facilities.

Like most of the Omnia smartphones, even the Omnia Lite presents TouchWiz 2.0 UI and a host of other features including Opera Browser and HSDPA & Wi-Fi connectivity. Further, it also incorporates multi-codec supported high-quality video, a 3-megapixel camera, and A-GPS.

The innovative OmniaPRO B7610 enhances the mobile experience by offering separate modes for Work and Life. The device is equipped with hybrid Touch/QWERTY form and sports a 5 megapixel camera with smile shot capability. The Omnia lineup also features the OmniaPRO B7330 that seems to be suitable for both business and personal use. Some of its features include a 3 megapixel camera, FM radio along with other multimedia features.

Catering to the needs of the current social networking age, Samsung had introduced the QWERTY OmniaPRO B7320 that supports social networking applications like Facebook and MySpace as well as instant messaging via MSN, Google Talk and Yahoo Chat.

It seems that the Samsung OmniaLITE and the OmniaPRO B7330 will launch in October, with Windows Mobile 6.5.
