After being unveiled back in May, the Samsung Music Hub service is now live in the US for Galaxy S3 smartphones. On opting for a paid subscription, users will be offered a 30-day trial and a free album download which will be added to their online personal music collection as well.

Going by the news, the application is based on the mSpot technology and is first to hit Galaxy S3 handsets via their respective carriers. Users will also be able acquire the app from the company’s app store or through Google Play. Designed specifically for mobile devices, the application fosters enhanced streaming and downloading choices that could save memory and reduce data usage, apart from enabling offline music playback.

“We’re redefining mobile music by offering a more integrated experience on the handset and lifting the barriers to your music. Our service encompasses all music including your own collection in the cloud, a robust streaming catalog that is seamlessly integrated with a music store, and a personal radio service that caters to all of your music moods and genres,” commented TJ Kang, senior vice president of the media services team for Samsung. “By providing a free album and trial, we hope Galaxy S III owners will experience for themselves a new, intuitive and easy way to discover music.”

Through the Samsung Music Hub store, users can not only access a host of songs via the 7digital catalog, but also purchase independent tracks or an entire album. A 30-second preview of all tracks will be accessible, just in case the song’s name doesn’t ring a bell. Fans may be happy to know that the catalog includes music from major productions like Sony, EMI, Warner and Universal. There is also a web player that can be used to stream tracks from the music library.

For now, the Samsung Music Hub service is available exclusively for the Galaxy S3 for free and comes with a premium subscription as well, that’s priced at $9.99 per month.
