Unlike its predecessors, the newly unveiled Energy Tablet i8 skips on the Android 2.3 platform to bring in a rich online experience through Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich OS. This slate comes equipped with a host of features for catering to both internet and entertainment needs.

Designed with a slim aluminum body, the device wears an 8-inch TFT LCD touch panel that offers an aspect ratio of 4:3 and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. To carry out operations, the company has armed it with a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor. Accompanying the CPU is 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The tablet also supports memory expandability up to 64GB via the embedded microSD card slot. Resting beneath the hood is a 3800mAh battery that is capable of delivering up to 6 hours of Wi-Fi browsing.

This slab drags along a 2MP rear-facing camera and a VGA 640 x 480p front-facing snapper. Users can employ the integrated HDMI output to view images, videos and much more on a larger display. There is also a built-in USB-OTG that permits access to the onboard memory via a computer and a USB host which can be used to hook up pen drives and other peripherals. In terms of audio, it comes integrated with stereo speakers and a built-in omni-directional microphone.

The Energy Tablet i8 price stands at €185,00 and it is expected be up for grabs starting from August 23, 2012.
