Samsung has announced the launch of its refreshed Galaxy Book S (2020) laptop, which ships with a fan-less design that allows it to be extremely thin and also enables it to work at high intensities without making any noise. This offering is powered by Intel’s Lakefield chips, and runs Windows 10 operating system. For now, it’s only scheduled for a UK arrival this June at a price of EUR 999 (approximately Rs 84,000). However, you can expect it to hit other markets in the future.

This sleek laptop from the South Korean company grabs a 13.3-inch full HD display that’s complemented by a touchscreen surface. As we said, Intel’s Lakefield chips with their hybrid technology power it from within. This is a departure from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor that could be found in its predecessor. As for memory, 8GB of RAM has been granted to the device, apart from 512GB of flash storage that’s expandable.

“The way we work has shifted and it’s important we have computing devices that can adapt to this new working style. Users utilize multiple devices throughout their day to accomplish tasks, and demand that those devices provide them with enough flexibility to remain on the move and available. With our new computing devices like the Galaxy Book S, we are providing users with an exciting opportunity to be productive, efficient and connected,” said Woncheol Chai, SVP and Head of Product Planning Team, Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.

The battery inside this fan-less laptop boasts of a 42Wh capacity, while it claims to deliver up to 17 hours of video playback time. Moreover, the new Samsung Galaxy Book S (2020) has also been blessed with a fingerprint sensor, backlit keyboard and AKG-tuned quad stereo speakers.
