As promised earlier, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is all set to go up for sale in the US on May 13, that’s tomorrow. Retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Tiger Direct, Office Depot, Best Buy, hhgregg and more will be stocking up on the device in the country.

This successor to the Samsung Tab 10.1 announced back at the MWC, binges on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich mobile platform. Its widescreen HD multi-touch display that spans across 10.1 inches, offers images in 1280 x 800p resolutions. The internal working of the slab is carried out under the supervision of a dual core CPU, which clocks in a processing speed of 1GHz.

While a front-facing VGA webcam allows users to engage in video conferencing, the 3MP rear-facing snapper facilitates capturing still shots as well as videos. It ships with 16GB internal memory, and is embedded with an expansion slot for increasing the memory by up to 32GB with a little assistance of a microSD card.

Users have an option to stream the tablet’s content onto a monitor or an HDTV as it boasts of HDMI compatibility. Its built-in IR blaster turns the device into a universal remote to control a TV and also lets users browse the web while watching programs or stream them to the tablet. Besides the Google Play Store, the Wi-Fi enabled tab can be used to access Samsung Apps or other services like Google Maps, ChatOn, Netflix, Dropbox or Samsung Hubs like Media, Music and Games amongst others.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 release date and price details stand at May 13 and $399.99, respectively. The Galaxy Player 4.2 will also be made available along with the slate for $199.99.
