The Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid Razr dressed in a blue color will be sold by the carrier from May 17 onwards. On the hardware front, all the specifications are intact, while we can still wait for ICS to drop by soon.

Running through its principal features, the smartphone sports a 4.3-inch qHD display and a dual core processor clocking in at a speed of 1.2GHz. At launch, the phone is expected to function on the Gingerbread OS, which is upgradeable to Android 4.0, as revealed by the company.

For photography enthusiasts, there’s an 8MP snapper sitting on the rear panel with 8x digital zoom and autofocus. A 1.3MP snapper is embedded on the front side for video conferencing. Touted to be the sleekest 4G LTE phone, the Droid Razr bears an exterior that has been reinforced with DuPont Kevlar fiber for extra durability. The display mentioned above is safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass to resist the inadvertent scratches and marks.

In terms of software, the phone features Smart Actions that optimizes the battery performance and automates tasks like activating the silent mode and so on. As mentioned on Engadget, the phone could hit shops like mortar and bricks ahead of its launch next week too.

While the phone is already available in the white, black and purple colors, the blue version seems to be specific to the carrier. Like we’ve already stated, the Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid Razr blue version should be up for grabs starting May 17 on the network provider’s official site.
